The beginning of the year is also the time of the return of major FILA events. The most prestigious international tournaments are without a doubt the 6 Golden Grand Prix tournaments that award important cash prizes and serve as qualifiers for the Final that will take place in Baku (AZE) on 16-18 July 2010. 

The first Golden Grand Prix of the season will be for freestyle and female wrestling and takes place in Krasnoyarsk (RUS) on 29-31 January 2010. The Ivan Yariguin Grand Prix has become a major event in the FILA calendar, attracting an increasing number of participants. 250 wrestlers from 22 countries are now competitin in Krasnoyarsk and the results and videos are available at www.wrestrus.ru.

 The first Greco-Roman Golden Grand Prix will be held in Szombathely (HUN) on 6-7 March 2010. The second tournament for female wrestling will be in Klippan (SWE) on 5-7 March 2010 and the second tournament in freestyle and Greco-Roman will be held in Tbilisi (GEO) on 5-7 June 2010. FILA encourages all wrestlers to take part in these tournaments that also count for the ranking of the Wrestler of the Year in all three styles.
