The European Council of the International Wrestling Federation announces with deep sorrow that on 4 July 2010, after the conclusion of the European Junior Championships in Samokov suddenly passed away Valentin Kroumov, chief coach of the Bulgarian team. Valentin Kroumov, aged 46, was one of the most distinguished wrestlers of Europe.

He was winner of four medals from Continental Championships (1985, 1988, 1989 and 1990). As a coach he used to work actively and selflessly for the promotion of wrestling. Among his pupils are several champions and medal winners of European and World Championships.

CELA expresses their deepest condolences to the family of Valentin Kroumov, to the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation and to all Bulgarian wrestlers.

From 29^th of June till 4^th of July 2010, the Junior European Championships (FS, FW, GR) will take place in Samokov (Bulgaria).
